After school...

"Christabella?" Zephyr asked.

"Yes?" Christabella answered, turning to Zephyr.

"You know that new guy in school?" Zephyr asked carefully.

Christabella suddenly tensed up and nodded and asked, "Why?"

"Is he... good looking? You like him?" Zephyr asked.

"Why are you asking?"

"Oh... nothing just wondering..." Zephyr said.

"Oh... no. I don't like him... not that way..." Christabella said.

"Oh..." Zephyr said, feeling really relieved.

"You jealous?" Christabella asked curiously.

"No! Not at all! Just asking. Heard a lot of girls are attracted to him... you know?" Zephyr said quickly.

Christabella shrugged, "Oh well, he's quite charming actually."

"Huh? So you like him?" Zephyr asked, jealousy and confusion bleeding into his brains and heart.

"Nah, he's not my type," Christabella said, "Why?"

"Oh!" Zephyr said. "Nothing..."

But deep inside, Christabella knows that Zephyr was worried now that his competitor has come and he has to be extra careful and watch his back.

----------------------------------------------
"This is so not cool!" Chrysantha whined.

"Okay, this is twenty third time you're saying that today. Knock it off!" Christabella sighed.

"But really, it's not cool!"

"Twenty- fourth"

"Stop it!"

"You stop it!"

"Fine then! Be that way!" Chrysantha snapped.

"Oh yes, I will..." Christabella snapped back. "Come on, what's so not cool about that?"

Chrysantha turned and said, "The fact that you and Zephyr are married and here comes walking in Kelvin, who flirts with you and it's so obvious he's in it for you."

"Uh huh..."

"You get two guys. Me? Nada!"

"Actually, you have that... whatshisname?"

"Jacky. The nerdy, weirdo Jack from "The Book Club" which is so boring..." Chrysantha said.

"Breathe." Christabella said.

"Okay, and he's following me around! And it's freakin' creepy! Look!" Chrysantha said, pointing at a guy whose hair was out of place and has a lopsided grin and freckles sprinkled all overhis face. He waved at Chrysantha. Chrysantha turned back, "See what I mean???"

"Yeah, he's creepy alright!" Christabella agreed.

"Is that all you can say?" Chrysantha asked with a frown.

"Err... avoid him?" Christabella suggested.

"Argh! I AM AVOIDING HIM!" Chrysantha said angrily.

"Then you're not avoiding him enough," Christabella said distractedly.

"Urgh! Forget it! It's just so not cool!" Chrysantha concluded.

"Twenty-five."

"You're not cool too!" Chrysantha said and stalked off.

"I am?" Christaella said, "OH! That counts too! That makes twenty six!" Christabella called. But Chrysantha was already lost in the crowds.

"What? So you told Kelvin EVERYTHING?" Chrysantha said. Oh look! Her eyes are bulging out of their sockets.

"Yeah..." Christabella said coolly.

"OMIGOSH! That's really bad. I can feel it..." Chrysantha said with her eyes closed and her hands circling an imaginary crystal ball.

Christabella rolled her eyes, "Feel what?"

Chrysantha opened her eyes and put on her serious look. Then she rested her hand on Christabella's shoulder, "It's gonna get complicated." Chrysantha let out a sigh and said, "He likes you... but you're MARRIED!"

"I know! You don't have to keep reminding me on that!"

Just then, Kelvin passed by and said "Hi" to Christabella.

"You see? That just proved it! You gotta explain to Kelvin!!!" Chrysantha said.

"Maybe he was just trying to be friendly?" Christabella suggested.

"Oh yeah! By slipping you his number? It's not that simple! Like, hello??? If you both are seen together, the whole school will tear down. Okay, maybe not literally, but... oh you know what I mean! The girls will hate you, not that they don't. But they will hate you MORE! And Zephy will treat you worse than ever, ever! You've already got the hottest guy in school! You can just... just get another hottest guy in school... second... hottest guy..." Chrysantha said manically.

"I already told him I was married," Christabella pointed out.

"Tell him again!" Chrysantha said.

"Okay fine!"

---------------------------------------------
During recess, Christabella went up to Kelvin and said, "Hi... we've... got to talk..."

"Okay, sure!" Kelvin said with a shrug and a grin.

"Let's go to a quieter place..." Christabella suggested/

"Okay, where?"

"How about the library?"

"Okay!" Kelvin agreed happily.

-----------------------------------------------
"Okay, where are we supposed to sit?" Kelvin asked quietly.

"Err... there!" Christabella said. It doesn't matter anyway. The library is always empty.

"So... I'm married," she said.

"You told me that yesterday," Kelvin said.

"I just want to be friends," she explained.

"Okay, we'll start off as friends," Kelvin said

"What do you mean 'start off'? We'll just be friends and we'll stay friends forever. Nothing is going to change. Nothing is supposed to change! Nothing more!" Christabella explained.

For awhile, there was just silence. Then slowly Kelvin nodded. Then said, "Why not?" sounding a bit hurt.

"Because I'm married," she said. Her shoulders slumped.

Kelvin laughed, "So because of that you, I mea, WE cannot be more than just friends?"

The librarian cleared her throat.

"Yeah, I'm supposed to be somebody's wife! Not supposed to be seeing anyone else! That will be an affair. We're not supposed to be here together in the first place!"

She started to gather her things and was ready to leave when she felt someone tug at her hands.

"Christabella, please reconsider it, wasting and sacrificing your happiness and yourself to a guy who don't love you is stupid. It's just ridiculous!" Kelvin said.

Christabella pulled her hand away, "I'm sorry, but I only like him... I love him. And I know, I believe, I'm not doing anything stupid... he loves me too!"

She didn't know that Zephyr was at the other side of the shelves and he's heard every single word of their conversation. He smiled to himself. He won.

Christabella left the library. Kelvin sat there, not believing that he'd been rejected or what had just happened. He was determined to get her, no matter what.

Zephyr picked up a few books and casually walked to the counter to check them out. He glanced side way at Kelvin. He felt a satisfaction. He took the books and walked out of the library.

"Oh my God! Christabella! Have you see him??? He's like sizzling! He's hot! And I heard he's rich!" that was the first greeting Christabella got from Chrysantha the next morning.

Judging from Chrysantha's breathless words, Christabella can practically see the guy was no ordinary guy. Seriously, Chrysantha acts like that whenever she sees hot guys.

"Who him?" Christabella asked, pretending to be stupid.

"HIM!!!!" Chrysantha squealed.

"WHO!?!?!" Christabella is getting impatient, she hates it when Chrysantha squeals because it gives her goosebumps.

"HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Chrysantha clapped her hands enthusiastically.

"WHOOOOOOOOOOOO?????????" now Christabella is really annoyed.

"KELVIIIIIIIIIIIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

What Kelvin? Who's Kelvin???

"KELVIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIN KIRKLAAAAAAAAAAAANDS!!!!!!!!!!" Chrysantha squealed more.

"Chrysantha! Stop it!" Christabella said.

"Stop what?"

"Squealing! You know how it makes me feel..." Christabella said.

"Okay," Chrysantha said, cooling down.

"Who's Kelvin Curtlands?" Christabella asked.

"KIRKlands," Chrysantha corrected.

"Isn't that some kind of place?"

"No..." Chrysantha frowned. "It's a hot guy, and he's really smart. He's the President of some really important club in his previous school. And he's like super rich! Did you see his car? And his shoes??? Like OMG!" Chrysantha is hyperventilating.

"He sounds too perfect... is he someone from you dream?" Christabella asked. Then she added, "Again."

"No! He's the new guy in school! And I heard he's in the same class as me. TWO OF THEM!!! And five of your classes and ALL of CATHERINE'S! That's disastrous! I know Catherine will go all over him! And then my dreams will come crashing down. Because I'm sure they'd be making out in the storeroom!" Chrysantha said frantically.

"Chrysantha, cool down. Breathe..." Christabella said.

"Okay..." Chrysantha inhaled. "I'm fine!" Inhale. "I'm okay!" Inhale.

"I think I see him," Christabella said, looking at someone behind Chrysantha.

"Erm... I think you dropped something..." a guy with hazel nut colour eyes.

"Oh! Thank you..." Christabella said, taking her bracelet from his hand.

"Welcome... see you around!" says Mr Hottie.

"Yeah!"

And he walks away with grace.

"Omigod! Omigod! He just talked to you! HE TALKED TO YOU!" there Chrysantha go again.

"Yea... so?"

"But he's mine! You're taken!" Chrysantha said.

"Oh yeah! Like he cares?" Christabella challenged.

"Hey! That's not fair! You can't have two things at the same time. Especially not guys!!" Chrysantha whined.

"Okay! Okay... I was just joking alright? He's yours. ALLLL yours," Christabella laughed.

In fact, Christabella can only wish Kelvin will look her way. Even though she's got a husband. But who cares? Not him!
"Back to Earth Chrysantha! Let's go!"

"Okay..." Chrysantha said dreamily.

They walked off to their next class. Music class.

----------------------------------------------

"Oh hey! It's you again!" a familiar voice said.

"Oh! Hey! You like music..." Christabella said. She regretted saying that. Now she sounds so stupid. Of course he likes music. Why then would he be here???

He nodded. "You?"

Oh haha! Now he sounds as stupid as me! Christabella thought.

"Yea... what do you play?" Christabella asked.

"The guitar... you?"

"The piano..."

"I play the guitar too!" Chrysantha cut in.

"Oh! Yea? That's nice..." he said.

"What's you name?" he asked Christabella.

"Christabella Mitchell... no... I mean... Christabella Jonathan..." she said, realising she's married to Zephyr.

"Oh... I'm Kelvin... Kelvin Kirklands... " he introduced.

"Chrysantha!" Chrysantha self-introduced. A bit... too enthusiastically.

"Oh! Err... nice to meet you both," Kelvin said, unsure of himself.

Then the music teacher came in.

"Good morning!" she chirped.

"Good morning Miss Sally," the class greeted in unison.

"Okay! First things first. We're going to play a piece. A duo, in fact. For the charity show. So... oh yeah! There's a new student in the class! He's Kelvin Kirklands..." Miss Sally said.

Kelvin stood up and bowed slightly to the class.

All the girls started whispering and giggling. He sat down.

"Thank you, Mr Kirklands. Quiet please! Okay, I'm going to pair you all up..." then Miss Sally began to call names off her list in pairs.

Chrysantha was hoping so hard she'd be with Kelvin.

But Christabella got Kelvin instead. Chrysantha stared at Christabella and mouthed ' I trust you!! '. Christabella mouthed back 'ok'. But inside, she's feeling giddy. Everyone started whispering and sneering at her. But Kelvin didn't notice anything. Or try not to.

Kelvin is good.

---------------------------------------------------

After the class, Kelvin dropped a note into Christabella's bag. When Christabella reached home and started unpacking her bag, she found a piece of paper with some numbers scribbled on it. Below it was a name... Kelvin.

The note said 'This is my number and well, I hope you'd call so we can hang out or something.'

This guy is daring...

"What are you doing?" Zephyr asked.

"Huh? Nothing! Just... unpacking... my bag..." Christabella replied, quickly stuffing the note in her drawer.

"Okay... I'll go shower first..."

"Yea... you go first..."

"Of course I should go first!" Zephyr said.

Obnoxious! Christabella thought.

Zephy went into the bathroom. Christabella went back to her thoughts. Should I tell Kelvin that I'm married?

JOANNA - This L.O.V.E ~ V - Valentine's Day

It has been exactly 3 months since we kissed. Since then, I had my doubts on whether I should continue seeing Kevin. He's sweet and nice and all but he took things too fast, that's why. Plus, he was going to graduate soon. I wouldn't be able to see him that often. I had no idea why I kissed him then. Now, I'm just...torn.

"Hey, Whitney! Guess who I saw standing by your locker?" Amanda smirked.

"Oh no. Kevin?" I cringed. At this point, I really don't understand my feelings anymore. I liked Kevin and thought he was different but after that kiss, I'm at crossed roads.

She shook her head. "Guess again."

Part of me was thankful it wasn't Kevin but part of me - a totally inexplicable part of me - hoped it is Jeremy. Though it's highly unlikely of Jeremy to be standing near any part of me and my stuff. It's like I have bad breath or something. Nevertheless, I guessed, "Jeremy?"

Amanda's smile widened and she said, "Go look for yourself."

I frowned but obeyed her. As I was on my way to my locker, other students stared at me, some even smiled. Confused and longing to find out the person at my locker, I quickened my pace.

"Whitney." he called.

"Jeremy." I replied. And then he did an out-of-this-world move - he bent down on one knee, pulled out a red rose and smiled. An audience already forming.

"I have waited for a long time to do this. Whitney, I love you. Will you be my valentine?" he held out the rose and looked at me hopefully.

The audience - mostly girls - were sort of on his side, encouraging me to accept until...

"HOLD IT!" a familiar voice shouted from a distance.

"Oh no." I slapped my forehead.

"Whitney." he called.

"Kevin." I said, forcing a smile. The audience was now stunned, they were silent.

"What happened, Whit? We liked each other. And we kissed." he said, emphasizing the last word.

"Kevin, this is not the right time." I replied.

"I love you, Whit. Be my valentine?" and then he knelt down beside Jeremy, who looked like he can rip his head off.

"Whoa. This drama is too much. I gotta go." I felt dizzy, running away from this scene felt like the best thing to do right now.

"No, no, no, no, no..." they both got up.

"You gotta choose between us." Jeremy suddenly said.

"What? Why?" I asked.

"You just gotta do it." he replied and continued in a softer tone, "So that I know where I stand."

I looked at Amanda, she seemed to be enjoying this little drama but gave me an encouraging nod.

Why?!?!

It was the night of the senior prom. Whitney and Kevin were somewhere in the school auditorium twirling around in fancy clothes. And I was at home, lying on my bed with a temperature of 38 degree celsius. I was sick, lovesick. And there wasn't anything I can do about it.

"Dude! What are you doing?! Your girl is out there with Kevin Gray! And you're here, wasting your time!" Wade just blasted into my room.

"Hi, Wade. Go away, Wade." I said unenthusiastically. I pulled my blanket and sank deeper into my bed.

"Wade." I heard Amanda say. "Hey Jeremy. How are you feeling?"

"I'm asleep. Go away." I fake-snored.

"Fine then." she answered. "But let me tell you this. Whitney will never be yours if all you do is lie here and pretend to be sick! All these years, Wade and I have been coming out with wacky plans for you to talk to her and ask her out. And this is what we get from you? If you really loved Whitney, you would have stopped her from dating Kevin! But you were too scared to face the rejection. Well, you never try you never know, right? And if you really want her to be yours, you wouldn't have given up so easily! Do you really think she's worth giving up so easily? Think about it." and then she stormed off.

"She's right." Wade said and closed the door behind him.

Ouch.

I felt a tear trickled down my face. It landed on my lips. It tasted salty. It hurts. The pain in my chest seemed to be hurting more. I shut my eyes. More tears poured out from my eyes. It stung. The tears kept flowing down till it left a stain on my pillow. They were right.

It has been too long since I've kept this feeling inside me. Too long till I forgotten the reason why I loved her. Loving her was a part of me. And if I let her go, it'll mean I'll be letting go a part of me. It wouldn't be the same anymore.

I had to do something.

My hair? My skin? My looks? My sense of clothing? My grades? My social reputation?

No. If I changed any of that, that wouldn't be me either. I just need to be myself. But being myself would mean making a complete fool of myself in front of her! I can't do it.

But my friends believed that I can do it. They always had my back. Although Amanda was a big fan of Kevin, she still supported me instead of him. Everyone believed that I can do it. Except me.

All I needed was to put a little more faith in myself.

I can do it. I can do it!

I just need a little more time.

And just in case I go back against my word, I, Jeremy Thompson, hereby vow to have Whitney Clinton as my own.

JOANNA - This L.O.V.E ~ V - Violet

First time reading this story? CLICK HERE FOR PART 1

This year's prom theme was violet. So, the school's auditorium was beautifully decorated with violet streamers, violet balloons and even the flower violet itself.

However, nothing can be more beautiful than Whitney. She was dressed in an elegant violet gown. Her hair was pulled back into a neat ponytail. Her face wore nothing but lip gloss and her cheeks were just slightly blushed pink. When she walked down the stairs, I can't help but feel like I'm the luckiest man on planet Earth.

"You ready?" I winked.

"Nope! Not yet! Just one more picture. Then, she'll be all yours." Mrs Clinton quickly snapped a photo.

"Mom!" she whined.

"Okay, okay! You two have fun!" Mrs Clinton finally allowed us to leave.

"Sorry about that. My mom can get a little too carried away sometimes." she smiled.

"Naw, that's okay. I'm just glad to be with you." I said sheepishly.

She blushed.

"You look really pretty in that gown." I said.

"And you look pretty okay yourself." she teased.

"'Pretty okay'?" I replied. "I'm sure you can do better than that."

She looked at me, head to toe and finally answered, "Yeah, I think I'll stick with pretty okay."

"Okay, as long as you're happy." I grinned.

When we reached the school, we could hear loud music blaring through the radios; seniors running as fast as they can without breaking a sweat to the auditorium; boring teachers whom you always thought had social issues on the dance floor -- everyone was having fun.

"Wow, we're late." I finally said.

"Fashionably late." she corrected.

"I thought I was just 'pretty okay'?" I asked.

"Well yeah, I'm the one who's fashionably late." she winked.

"Anyway," diverting the topic, I added, "You wanna dance?" I held out my hand.

"Yeah, sure. Why not?" she gracefully took my hand.

"Hey, I'm not good at this so forgive me if I did something wrong." I admitted.

"No worries, just follow my lead." she grinned, obviously delighted to be in authority.

She told me to put one hand on her hip and held my other hand. And then we started twirling around in random motion according to the rhythm of the music. She could sense I was nervous but her smile reassured me. I kept glancing down my two left feet for fear I would step her feet, but she kept lifting my chin up and told me to look at her. I did. And everything else blackened out. It was just me and her under the big spotlight. I didn't even care if I danced weird. All that mattered was she was in my arms.

Her sparkling eyes, her irresistable smile...

And right before the music ended, we kissed.

I found her.

My date for the prom.

Whitney Clinton.

Vice President of the Drama Club. Treasurer of the student body council. Spontaneous, funny, outgoing, genuine... you name it. To add a plus point, she's a real beauty too. I wonder why she doesn't have any secret admirers? Well, except for that Thompson guy. Maybe there is, but she just doesn't make it obvious.

"Kevin? You wanted to ask me something?" she looked at me hopefully. Snapping me out of my trance.

"Yeah. Well, er...it's...nah...forget it." I couldn't string a gramatically correct sentence! This girl sure is something. She makes me nervous!

"You sure?" she half-smirked.

"Yeah. I'm sure." I lied, and then turned back to pretend like I'm calling a waitor to prevent her from seeing my flaring nose. That's my weakness. I can't lie without flaring my nose!

"You okay? You seem...nervous." she suspected something.

"Nervous? What?! Why on earth will I be nervous?! I'm fine! Really. You don't have to worry about me. You just worry about yourself. Your beautiful self." I mumbled in one breath. Gosh, that sounds embarassing.

"Okay then, I'll just worry about my beautiful self." she sneered.

"Yup. Correct." I caught back my breath.

Stupid lying and nervous habits...I muttered to myself.

"What did you say?" she lifted an eyebrow.

"Nothing. I said nothing." I replied abruptly. "Waitor! Bill please!"

"Hey Kevin?" she leaned a little closer towards me. "You ARE different. I always thought you were like every jock who only dates dumb blondes. And you wouldn't even care if I existed or not. Guess I shouldn't simply judge a person. But now, I finally saw the other side of you. You're just like every other guy with lying and nervous issues." she smirked.

"What?! Lying and nervous issues?!" I started fidgetting.

"Come on. Spit.It.Out." she emphasized each word.

I stared into her big brown eyes and she was staring back into mine. And then, her lips curved up into a huge grin. Someone once said that a smile is a curve that can set everything straight. They were right. And that was when my courage and confidence came back to me.

"Would you like to be my date to the prom?" I finally spat out the words.

"Now that wasn't so hard, right?" she teased. I really found someone real, thanks to the accident this afternoon. "I would love to."

"Really? Because you don't have to if you don't want to." I said hesitantly.

"Kev, really." she answered confidently. She touched my shoulder gracefully as if to assure me that she wasn't lying.

That splitsecond meant everything to me. That little touch sent me into a frenzy. It was something I've never felt before. I couldn't contain that overwhelming unknown emotion in me. It felt like beautiful butterflies finally free from the coccoons, its wings fluttering so hard as it faces its first encounter with flying.

"Your bill, sir." the waitor snapped me back into reality.

It's official.

I've fallen for Whitney Clinton.
